When Terry Drury first saw our featured blue 1967 Dodge D-100 in Minden, Nebraska, in 1997, he did not believe it was stock. “That is a really unusual interior,” he thought. “Someone must have customized it and added the bucket seats and center console.” Little did he realize that he was looking at a Custom Sports Special (or CSS)—one of the most collectible trucks Dodge ever produced.

The fifth generation of Ford’s F-series ran from model year 1967 through 1972, and the company continued to emphasize that its light-duty pickups “work like trucks … ride like cars.” Its F-100, F-250, and F-350 did not trade comfort for capability, though, with maximum gross vehicle weight ratings of 5,000, 7,500, and 10,000 pounds, respectively.
